سورة القمر
Surah Name: Al-Qamar Meaning: The Moon
اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ Iqtarabati a(l)ssaAAatu wainshaqqa alqamar(u) The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been rent asunder. (54:1) |
وَإِن يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُّسْتَمِرٌّ Wain yaraw ayatan yuAAridoo wayaqooloo sihrun mustamirr(un) And if they behold a Sign, they turn away, and say: Magic continuous. (54:2) |
وَكَذَّبُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءهُمْ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ Wakaththaboo wa(i)ttabaAAoo ahwaahum wakullu amrin mustaqirr(un) And they belied, and they followed their lusts, and every affair comes to a final goal. (54:3) |
وَلَقَدْ جَاءهُم مِّنَ الْأَنبَاء مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ Walaqad jaahum mina alanbai ma feehi muzdajar(un) And assuredly there has come to them tidings wherein is a deterrent. (54:4) |
حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ Hikmatun balighatun fama tughnee a(l)nnuthur(u) Wisdom consummate.But warnings avail not. (54:5) |
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَى شَيْءٍ نُّكُرٍ Fatawalla AAanhum yawma yadAAu a(l)ddaAAi ila shayin nukur(in) So withdraw you-SW from them. The day when the summoner will summon mankind to a thing unpleasant. (54:6) |
خُشَّعًا أَبْصَارُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُّنتَشِرٌ KhushshaAAan absaruhum yakhrujoona mina alajdathi kaannahum jaradun muntashir(un) They will come forth with the downcast looks from the tomb as if they were locusts scattered. (54:7) |
مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ يَقُولُ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ MuhtiAAeena ila a(l)ddaAAi yaqoolu alkafiroona hatha yawmun AAasir(un) Hastening towards the summoner. The infidels will say: This is a hard Day. (54:8) |
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ فَكَذَّبُوا عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا مَجْنُونٌ وَازْدُجِرَ Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin fakaththaboo AAabdana waqaloo majnoonun wa(i)zdujir(a) There belied before them the People of Nuh-AS. So they belied Our-SWT bondman Nuh-AS, and said: A madman; and he was reproved. (54:9) |
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانتَصِرْ FadaAAa rabbahu annee maghloobun fa(i)ntasir Thereupon he prayed to his Rabb-SWT : Verily I am overcome, so vindicate me. (54:10) |
فَفَتَحْنَا أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاء بِمَاء مُّنْهَمِرٍ Fafatahna abwaba a(l)ssamai bimain munhamir(in) Then We-SWT opened the portals of heaven with water poured out. (54:11) |
وَفَجَّرْنَا الْأَرْضَ عُيُونًا فَالْتَقَى الْمَاء عَلَى أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ Wafajjarna alarda AAuyoonan fa(i)ltaqa almao AAala amrin qad qudir(a) And We-SWT made the earth break forth with springs that the water met after an affair already decreed. (54:12) |
وَحَمَلْنَاهُ عَلَى ذَاتِ أَلْوَاحٍ وَدُسُرٍ Wahamalnahu AAala thati alwahin wadusur(in) And We-SWT borne him on a thing of planks and nails. (54:13) |
تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَاء لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ Tajree biaAAyunina jazaan liman kana kufir(a) Moving forward under Our-SWT eyes: A vindication of him who had been rejected. (54:14) |
وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَاهَا آيَةً فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ Walaqad taraknaha ayatan fahal min muddakir(in) And assuredly We-SWT left it for a Sign. Is there, then, any one who would be admonished? (54:15) |
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthur(i) So how dreadful have been My-SWT chastisement and My-SWT warnings. (54:16) |
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ Walaqad yassarna alqurana li(l)ththikri fahal min muddakir(in) And assuredly We-SWT have made the Quran easy for admonition; is there, then, any one who would be admonished? (54:17) |
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ Kaththabat AAadun fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthur(i) And there belied the 'Ad; so how dreadful have been My-SWT chastisement and My-SWT warnings! (54:18) |
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُّسْتَمِرٍّ Inna arsalna AAalayhim reehan sarsaran fee yawmi nahsin mustamirr(in) Verily We-SWT ! We-SWT sent against them a raging wind on a day of continuous calamity. (54:19) |
تَنزِعُ النَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُّنقَعِرٍ TanziAAu a(l)nnasa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin munqaAAir(in) Carrying men away, as if they were trunks of uprooted palm trees. (54:20) |
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthur(i) So how dreadful has been My-SWT chastisement and My warnings. (54:21) |
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ Walaqad yassarna alqurana li(l)ththikri fahal min muddakir(in) And assuredly We-SWT have made the Quran' easy for admonition; is there, then, any one who would be admonished? (54:22) |
